George Town is the capital of the state of Penang in Malaysia. Named after Britain's King George III, George Town is located on the north-east corner of Penang Island. George Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (listed together with Malacca, another historical town of Malaysia on 7 July 2008).
Street Art
It all started off with a street art project called Mirrors Georgetown by Georgetown festival 2012. Since then, street art has been popping up all over the inner city and has stirred up quite a media frenzy. Here are a few pieces that visitors will probably come across when exploring Georgetown.
